Centre Thermal d'Yverdon
2016 · Suisse, Yverdon-les-Bains · Public » Health
The Yverdon-les-Bains thermal spa centre is reinventing itself with a sober and luminous architectural style, in harmony with its natural landscape and thermal heritage.
The project redefines the links between architecture, water, forest and park thanks to a new 1,000 m² glass entrance, which articulates all the uses: a renovated hotel, outdoor pools that remain in service and a new baths building.
The latter is built on an existing structure, supported by a metal frame and clad in vertical white concrete slats that capture and diffuse light. Inside, the spaces flow seamlessly from one to the next: thermal pools, leisure areas, treatment rooms and a themed spa create a sensory journey designed to engage the whole body.
Carried out on an occupied site, the project combines technical performance with attention to the visitor experience, in an approach that is precise, human and contextual.
