Banco Galicia
The project proposes combining a low-rise building that blends into the existing block with a tower that connects to the avenue and the park. The articulation of these two elements creates a new type of building that provides a consistent response to the future urban morphology resulting from the Building Code. The tower, the entrance plaza and the bar are three indivisible and complementary parts that connect the complex with Los Andes Park, Corrientes Avenue and the La Chacarita neighbourhood on Leiva Street.
The tower reinforces the urban presence and institutional identity of the complex. By stepping back and connecting with the lower structure, it frees up the public space needed to create the entrance plaza.
This space, ceded for public use, widens the pavement of Avenida Corrientes, reinforcing access to the complex and symbolically strengthening the Bank's relationship with the city.
The building is located on Leiva Street and contains 90% of the office programme. It is a compact, high-performance building with great flexibility. The office floors have been designed to achieve maximum freedom and flexibility in both the planning and use of workspaces. In order to improve thermal efficiency, passive systems have been incorporated into this fully air-conditioned building to reduce energy consumption. This is achieved by minimising heat gain through the façades.
