Banco Ciudad Headquarters
This public competition focused on the design and construction of an office building for Banco Ciudad’s new corporate headquarters. The proposal’s most significant impact centres on two related themes: shaping the urban frontage of the park by erecting a large, iconic institutional building; and the consequence of the development, namely the densification of the neighbourhood, which will bring a large flow of people to the area, thereby revitalising it. The project proposes concentrating the entire office programme within a single, compact volume with an open perimeter. This results, amongst other advantages, in an optimal ratio between the area of naturally lit spaces and the area of the façades; or, to put it another way, an ideal balance between comfort and costs, both in terms of the building’s construction and its operation and maintenance.
The volume occupies the centre of the block, resting on a plinth that spatially accommodates the site’s slope and houses the ancillary functions with their various access points, as well as the building’s future extension.
To the north, the project assertively defines its identity through the sensuality of its curved façade and the greenery of its garden. Both engage intensely with the park, drawing it into the interior of the plot. The curve also has the advantage of extending the length of the north façade, allowing most of the workstations to be distributed along it, enjoying the privilege of the park’s presence.
The office floors are designed to achieve maximum freedom and flexibility in terms of both planning and the use of workspaces.
In addition to the aforementioned open-plan office area, which houses most of the workstations with views of the park, the standard floor plan features, along its three straight façades, sections ideal for private offices, group offices or meeting rooms.
