Hotel en Bilbao

The project consists of the refurbishment and extension of an existing building in the center of Bilbao to house a hotel. The building in question consists of 6 floors and was originally intended for school use, with a residence on the top floor.
The new program includes a total of 91 rooms, with the communal spaces of the hotel program developed on the ground floor.
The coexistence of the existing structural rhythm with the modulation established for the rooms greatly restricts the position and size of the openings in the façade, which react more randomly when they are freed from these restrictions in the southern corner of the façade to offer a more dynamic image towards the square. The external joinery is arranged in external beams to emphasize the laminar character of the new façade.
