Chemin de la Crétaz
Given the characteristics of the site, the project aims to optimise the integration of the building volume by maximising views and outdoor spaces for all dwellings. The plot, accessed via a narrow road and situated on a steep slope, sees this challenge turned to its advantage to create a balanced development, which sits on a plinth forming a semi-underground basement. This solution facilitates level access to the communal garage, from which there is direct access to four residential levels: the vertical circulation core is centrally located, distributing the various dwellings—each comprising three storeys and an attic—on either side. Such a design not only helps to separate the east and west sections without any loss of living space, but also acts as a stiffening element for the entire building, whose peripheral structure consists of prefabricated concrete sandwich panels. The system thus developed has made it possible to design more enclosed spaces in contrast to the front section, which is largely open and features large sliding glass windows, the whole topped by a vast terrace adjoining the attic. On challenging terrain, the building fits in naturally, its simple, airy geometry blending into the slope. Retaining walls constructed from natural stone masonry complete the composition with elegance and discretion.
