Torre del Bicentenario
2010 · Argentina, Ciudad de Buenos Aires · Public » Culture
The Bicentennial Tower, a new symbol of Argentine unity and hospitality, offers us all a broad, free and generous view of the city. This tower commemorates the bicentennial of the May Revolution, providing the people with an emblematic monument. At 200 metres high, it also stands as a panoramic viewpoint of the city. The site is located in a gap facing the river, between the port and the ecological reserve. In addition to its symbolic nature, the tower is also a tourist-commercial venture, a removable metal structure consisting of two pillars. Between the two pillars, 15 capsules move to transport visitors.
