2016 - 2016 · United States of America, Miami · Public » Culture
Richter Dahl Rocha & Associés architectes with the participation of Fernando Iglesias Molli have designed the architectural scheme submitted for this ambitious proposal on an exceptional site belonging to the Miami Dade College in downtown Miami. The project under the name of the Pi Art Tech & Trade Center is the result of the collaboration of an impressive team of multi-disciplinary talents brought together by developer Jorge Brugo, from Axis Realty Trust. The program of this Public Private Partnership bid, includes a State of the Art Cultural Center with a Congress and Convention Center and a Museum for the Miami Dade College. In addition the proposal includes a new Museum, the future « MOTA, Museum of the Americas » to house the outstanding collection of Ms Ella Fontanals-Cisneros of the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO), as well as contributing to the MDC’s Museum with it’s experience, resources and logistical support. Although the Project occupies the majority of the plot, an important proportion is kept free for a public plaza, to accommodate access to the Cultural Center, the different lobbies of the multiple occupants of the Tower as well as some retail space capable of guaranteeing an animated public pedestrian level. The Tower itself is planned to accommodate a 100 room Arts Hotel on the lower 5 floors in direct connection to the MOTA, with the 41 floors above it to house 615’000 sqft. of Office Space and 14 floors of luxury Condominium Apartments and their corresponding amenities, all with stunning views of Miami. The uppermost levels have been kept for a Public Observation Deck and the « Sphere of Knowledge », crown piece of the building, with 7 floors dedicated to supporting activities conducive to expanding Miami’s cultural, technological and commercial presence in our 21st Century Globalized World.
