Clinique La Source

The contest required to give a new image to the Private clinic by renewing its facade, but the occasion made it possible to go beyond from a simple aesthetic intervention. Thermal qualities were to be updated and the phonic capacities could also be largely improved. It was important also to transmit a more harmonious image of the unit, from which the various parts would be more clearly reunified. Finally, the reflexion on the scale to be given to this new frontage was important, considering its visibility since bottom of the Avenue of Beaulieu like directly since the Vinet Avenue. To start, all the windows which did not have yet a glazing insulating were replaced, then the full parts were covered with a new layer of insulation (14 cm of mineral wool) in its turn covered with one. To finish, the unit was packed by a layer of transparent protection. The proposal to use a translucent protection seeks to make perceptible the depth of the intervention. Moreover it allows a great expressive richness thanks to the various effects resulting from the variation of the reflections, the transparencies, or the variations of color obtained between glass and the blue bottom of color who seems to us well to correspond to the character of health and wellbeing of the Private clinic. During the final development, the polycarbonate under consideration at the time of the contest was replaced by glass. This one made it possible to guarantee the uniformity of the unit, equipping the frontage with only one material, by covering certain parts in front of the windows with transparent glasses and translucent glasses for the remaining unit. All glasses were printed by serigraphy with a geometrical drawing linaire of white color. Various tests made it possible to choose the final combination, whose only one reason is repeated on the whole of glasses, with a rotation of 180 degrees between the contiguous elements. This operation gives an almost organic graphic result, reinforcing the textile and light aspect new preparing.
