Casa Fareña

Fareña is a perfect house for holidays and weekends. The ground floor has a living-dining-cooking room and a suite for guests. On the top floor there is a suite, two children's bedrooms with a bathroom and an exit to a terrace with a view. The house is located in front of the Lighthouse Plaza in Punta del Este, on a small plot of land with 70 years old palm trees. The house was set so as to offers view to the lighthouse whilst preserving its intimacy and discretion from the outside. The wall that separates the property from the street already existed and was used as the projects new boundary, defining patios closed to the street and open to within. The ground floor with the day uses is transparent in contrast to the upper floor with the bedrooms, presented as solid and closed. The materials, also play on these contrasts with smooth white walls, rustic stone floors, timber doors and windows and exposed concrete for the ceilings.
