Beaulieu

The project involved expanding the Palais de Beaulieu, Lausanne's convention centre. Its prime location and the required programme – hotels, offices and a shopping centre – led to a proposal to erect a tower, thereby freeing up the ground floor and allowing the existing public spaces to be developed and expanded. In addition, the centre's existing pavilions were redesigned with a focus on flexibility of use. Access to the site through a large canopy housing all public functions was planned as a lively passageway for visitors between the urban space and the interior garden/park.
