Avenue de la Vallombreuse

Located in Prilly, in the outskirts to the west of Lausanne, this building comprises fifty-seven apartments, essentially of two, three and four rooms. Two underground levels house parking spaces for sixty-four vehicles and a complex for civil protection (shelters, waiting station and sanitary post). To the urban code’s restrictions the building responds by embracing the form of the landscape, adapting to the slope and articulating a series of private terraces. The ground floor’s transparency allows it to link the higher and lower side of the site, playing on the contrast between the convex and more closed façade behind and the concave façade open to the sun and view.
